
Experts have emphasised on the need to integrate Ayurveda’s traditional knowledge with modern scientific research to strengthen preventive and holistic approaches in paediatric healthcare. They were speaking at the inaugural of the two-day 30th National Seminar organised by the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush.
The two-day seminar, held here is centred on the theme “Management of Illness and Wellness in Paediatrics through Ayurveda.” It brought together leading scholars, researchers, practitioners and students of Ayurveda from across the country.
The deliberations on day one reaffirmed the potential of Ayurveda to offer comprehensive solutions to emerging health challenges in children. Experts said that combining traditional practices with contemporary validation could lay the foundation for building a healthier and more resilient younger generation.
In a written message, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, noted that Ayurveda has historically placed child health at the core of societal well-being. “This seminar is a timely initiative to promote Ayurveda’s integrated approach to managing illness and fostering wellness in paediatrics,” he said.
Renowned Ayurveda scholar and RAV President Vaidya Devendra Triguna lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for placing Yoga and Ayurveda on the global map. He praised RAV’s continued focus on paediatric wellness.
Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda, highlighted the growing public trust in the Ayush sector and credited it to sustained government support and the dedication of the professional community.
Dr. Vandana Siroha, Director, RAV, in her address, reiterated the seminar’s importance in realizing the vision of “Swasth Balak, Swasth Bharat,” and underscored Ayurveda’s paediatric branch, Kaumarbhritya, for its comprehensive approach to child wellness.
Scientific sessions featured evidence-based research presentations and poster exhibitions by young scholars. The event also hosted interactive discussions on promoting preventive child healthcare through Ayurveda.
Building upon the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the first day of deliberations at the seminar reaffirmed that Ayurveda’s wisdom can offer new dimensions to paediatric healthcare.
