Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who reviewed the preparations at the venue on Saturday, said the event would serve as a platform to bring new opportunities and practical solutions to the farming community. Accompanied by Central and State officials, he inspected the site, flagged off promotional vehicles, and interacted with local residents.

Raisen is a historic town and municipality in Madhya Pradesh, India, serving as the administrative headquarters of the Raisen District. Situated near Bhopal, it is famous for the 11th-century Raisen Fort and the Hazrat Peer Fatehullah Shah Baba shrine. The region, which has a population of over 44,000 2011 census, is a major site for agricultural activity.

Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the fair will feature around 300 stalls showcasing advancements in farm machinery, irrigation systems, crop protection, seeds and soil nutrition. A dedicated innovation zone will host leading research bodies, including CGIAR, along with various farmer service providers.

The venue has been equipped with three large hangars and three seminar halls to accommodate thousands of participants. While one section will focus on core agricultural technologies, another will highlight animal husbandry, dairy, irrigation and soil management. Several national organisations, including NAFED, NCCF, NSC and institutes under Indian Council of Agricultural Research, will also participate, according to an official from the Ministry.

The fair is centred on themes such as “Empowered by Government Schemes, Middleman-Free Markets” and “Secure Harvests, Prosperous Farmers.” Officials said farmers would receive detailed information on initiatives such as the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, including subsidies and interest support for building warehouses and cold storage facilities. The aim is to encourage scientific storage practices and enable farmers to secure better prices for their produce, he added.

In addition to exhibitions, the event will host training sessions, live demonstrations of schemes, and interactions with agricultural scientists. Dedicated segments on organic farming, dairy, poultry and fisheries have also been planned, along with presentations by agri-startups.
